Another What to Wear Wednesday

It is true what they say, although I am not really sure who "they" are in this case, but they are smart people. Accessories can make or break your outfit or look. And it is not just limited to what you are wearing to work or a wedding or even a date night, it is very true for your photo sessions whether it is a boudoir, couples or engagement session.

You might have a really great piece of lingerie which you will of course look amazing in but how great would it be to finish the look with a killer set of high heels. While THE right pair of shoes should never be taken for granted, there are are other accessories that can really help you achieve the look you want for your session. Like if you are going for a more natural, down to earth look for an outdoor session than you might consider a simple necklace that is a little longer which would work perfectly with a flirty pair of jeans and a black fitted tank top.

Some other accessories to consider:

Stockings, your favorite clutch or small handbag, hats, glasses, bracelets, earrings, hair accessories including feather extensions (I love those). Really anything goes.

What to Wear Wednesday - a little late

I apologize for the delay in my newest edition of What to Wear Wednesday. I had a couple of meetings last night and one turned into a four hour chat session with my client and friend, Miss E (stay tuned for a little sneak peak of her boudoir session)...who didn't end up leaving the studio until after midnight. And then I had to go to bed.

I have been wanting to do a more casual boudoir session, that doesn't take place in my bedroom set, but in my lounge set. There are some stores that have their own line of sleepwear and loungewear and while the whole line looks really comfortable, but the clothing looks pretty sexy too. So when you are planning out the wardrobe for your next boudoir session, why not look at some of your more casual clothing. I am not suggesting that you pull out the sweats that you weed your garden in or the tank top that you wear to scrub your tub and toilets in but consider the clothing you wear when it is rainy, miserable Sunday afternoon when you are curled up on the couch with your significant other watching an old movie or reading a new book and what makes you feel comfortable and a little sexy.

But you can't forget about accessories that really do finish the whole look. You might decide to wear a pair of black booty shorts and a slouchy warm sweater, but to really pull it together you also wear a pair of those moccasin type slipper shoes from Payless or a pair of Uggs. But you can't forget about props, so maybe you wear a camisole, shorts and a cute little cartigan and you favourite coffee mug that you drink out of every morning.

New Packages, my first trip to NYC and some changes

Just this past weekend, I visited New York City for the very first time ever. For everyone that has been there, you know what I am talking about when I say - WHAT A CITY!!! I can't believe how huge it is and how many people there are there. And for anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to visit, all I have to say is - What the heck have you been waiting for?

My friend Sarah and myself were in the city for only in the city for about 12 hours, which was not nearly enough time to really do this city justice, but we got a really good taste for it, actually I would say it was more of a tease really. We took an overnight bus trip that left from Vaughan, Ontario on Friday night and arrived in NYC early Saturday morning and we left from there at 9:30 on Saturday night and drove home overnight. I know, CRAZY, right? And even though I can't remember my feet ever hurting as much as they did on Saturday night and my arms, shoulders and back hurt and I was exhausted, it was so worth it.

Now, in being consistent with the theme of this post, the theme being new experiences and just newness in general, I am happy to announce my new boudoir photography packages.

Yes...I am a planner

I found myself in a local children's store this evening after work looking for some cute clothes to give as a gift to my friend at her baby shower this Sunday. Now this particular store has some seriously cute clothes for babies, toddlers and even school-aged children. As I was looking at all the adorable newborn onesies, I caught myself glancing over at the 12-18 month clothing scanning for a birthday present for Charlie (my best friend's son). And then with an arm full of clothes for both ages I ended up wandering over to the toddler clothing to stock up for my three year old son for Christmas. Before I even made it to the cashier, I was on the phone with my mother-in-law to find out what size my four year old nephew is in, again for his Christmas gift.

So yes, I am a planner. I like having my to-do lists and the feeling I get when checking items off the list, which is why, before we Canadians have even celebrated Thanksgiving, I am announcing the details of the very first Mistletoe Mini Boudoir Sessions.

I will have two studio dates to accommodate these sessions with up to four sessions each date which means I only have 8 time slots!!

A Typical Wednesday Night, Victoria's Secret and NFL Pre-Season Game

Tonight was a very typical night at the Hill household. After mowing the lawn and more painting in the studio, dinner and getting our three year old son tucked into bed, my husband Adam and myself parked ourselves on the oversized sectional couch in our basement to unwind and watch some TV.

As usual, there was nothing interesting on TV this summer Wednesday night so I ended up with my computer on as my husband watched a re-run of House. For a brief moment, I turned my attention away from Facebook and onto our TV screen just in time to see a small ad in the corner about the unofficial start of the NFL season. Apparently there is a pre-season game against Philidelphia and Pittsburg tomorrow night.

Now, personally, I am not a football fan and my knowledge of the sport is pretty limited. What I do know about the sport is that (a) some of the players in the NFL, have nice butts and look pretty good in the tight pants; and (b) a lot of men LOVE football and have actually become so obsessed with the sport that they join pools at their workplaces, watch every Sunday, Monday and Thursday night, and on top of all that join not one or two, but three fantasy pools - yes my husband is guilty of all these.

After considering all of this, I started looking on the internet and found out that Victoria's Secret has some pretty sexy NFL team wear in their sassy Pink line. So if the man in your life is an NFL Superfan, why not take his eyes away from the big screen TV and computer and let him see how good you can look wearing his team colours. How surprised would he be!!!

The fall is a great time to book your own themed boudoir session because there are so many great themes that you could go with, and you have the PERFECT time to give him a Collector's Album or Pandora's Box...Christmas!!! To inquire or book your session, just send me a note or give me a call and we can discuss in more details.

In the meantime, check out some of Victoria Secret's Pink NFL Collection.

Hand in hand

She cringed as she second guessed her footing, hoping that the narrow heels on the shoes she was wearing would not give out. Hoping that they wouldn't become wedged and stuck between the rocks that were most likely underneath the long grass, weeds and branches on the small hill they were clmibing.

Navigating her way on a path of beaten down grass, she felt his hand in hers and instantly felt relieved. It was the hand she had been holding onto for the last decade, since her last year of highschool and it is the hand that she will continue to hold for the rest of her life.
